Cool Roof
Flex Cool Roof systems, either DuPont Elvaloy® PVC or TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) products, are manufactured as highly reflective white roof surfaces. The combination of the solar reflectivity and emissivity values of Flex Cool Roof Membranes is referred to as the Solar Reflectance Index or SRI. Flex Cool Roof Membranes have an SRI value of 109 which may reduce roof surface temperatures in summer up to 50°F. This is turn reduces the energy needed for air conditioning, and contributes to lowering the urban "heat island" effect that is an environmental concern.

Green Roof
In some cases the use of live plant materials on a roof provide increased insulation, a cooler roof, due in part to plant transpiration, and provide the ultimate environmental statement to the community. Flex products are used extensively as key components in green roof solutions. We don't have a green thumb, but we will make sure the roof performs the way it should.
